So I parked it up and this week pulled the engine down to investigate.Result No 3 big end shell distroyed. A common problem with A series engines so I'm told by people in the know. Why just No3??? I've got my Mini back together and today was the first day without a frost that I've had a chance to go for a test drive.
Now as some will now it suffers with bad torque steer,to the point of being frightening at times. So I have swapped the cross pin diff and fitted a Quaife Automatic Torque Bias Limited Slip Diff or ATB LSD for short. http://quaife.co.uk/quaife-products/quaife-limited-slip-differential/ First impression is its brilliant! nothing like the old disc LSDs. Also I've gone for a high torque starter.Thumbs up for that Bryn. And upgraded the head lamps to LED sealed units NOT the angle eye ones, these are LUK ones,I've done a video comparing the old lights and will stick it up soon or at least a link to it. | |
